About Selig Law Firm

Following an extensive career as a real estate attorney in private practice and as General Counsel of two large Chicago real estate firms, Randy Selig ended up as an equity partner at DLA Piper in 2006. However, he quickly realized that the bureaucracy and politics of a large firm did not fit with his entrepreneurial spirit, and that he would prefer the thrill of his own successes and failures to the safety of a large firm. 

In 2008, Randy took the risk of stepping out on his own and starting a new firm. He quickly built on his long standing relationships in the real estate industry to establish a premier client base. Our business and the size and sophistication of our clients’ investments have grown exponentially since the firm was founded, but we have chosen to remain a small, boutique commercial real estate firm with a select clientele of major players in Chicago real estate.  We focus exclusively on commercial real estate so we can be the best at what we do.

Because clients' decisions about legal matters are always made in the larger context of their business strategy, our approach to legal advice is to first understand our clients' financial pro formas, capitalization strategies and business operations. Our clients choose us because we are more than their lawyers.  We are part of their real estate teams and integral parts of their acquisition,  management and strategic decisions.
